Our planing for the first trip in Budapest it was not something special. We were already 1 year and half together and decided that this summer will be our first trip together. There was only one condition, use airplane as transportation.Yes first time flying with airplane.
Destination
As we said, we are employed and saving money before taking any trip so from one point we were on a budget from other we didn't want to spend too much money even if this was our first time visiting such beautiful city. So because of that we went to Budapest.
Budapest
What more to say then every year Budapest is proclaimed in top 10 destinations in the World. You definitely should put it on your travel bucket list. For two persons who didn't had chance to travel and visit many cities by that time, we are still talking here and there about the time we spend in the city and places we visited.
Not to mention that our biggest wish is for us to move there to live, and its been 4 years since we've been there and visited more than enough places since than. You will not be disappointed by anything, the city is museum by its self, every corner has something to say every building has marks from the time it was built. Oh and the cruise you can take by the Danube river its breath taking, but make sure you cruise while the sun sets and the day is overtaken by the night.
Transportation
First time flying with airplane :), we were very excited and counting the days to our trip, but i am pretty sure you are interested which company we were using. We flew with Wizzair, that is the only airplane company which offers cheap flight in our country.
Accommodation
We used Booking.com we were accommodated in Delta Motel, not very far from the city center, 10 - 15 min walk. We were very satisfied with the accommodation, the people that worked there were polite and friendly. The room was enough for us, we are not looking for something extravagant. Our motto is not pay to much money on a room in which you will only sleep.
Weather
We were visiting Budapest in middle of summer (July), we were expecting that it will be very hot, and maybe a little unbearable at least 40 Celsius. But the thing about Budapest is that it is situated in the northern hemisphere and most of the time it was windy. Also, good factor is that where ever you go you can get there by walking under the shadow of the buildings, they are built near to each other and the streets are not too wide, and you are protected from the sun hitting you directly.
Budget of the trip
Budapest is not very expensive city to visit if you are there to walk around the city and visit few museums and places. If you are there also to party and have lunches in fancy places, then you'll need more than what we spend during our time there. Before we go somewhere, we always plan our spending, how much would we need for food, tickets, transportation etc.
We like to know upfront what we are going to see and where we are going to enter, and if there is spare time for something else its always great. Our budget was 600 euros, but maybe it will be strange for you we spend only 450 euros for the whole trip, that includes flight tickets, accommodation, food, tickets for museums, shopping, souvenirs for friends and family etc.
